Activities at Lewaso can cater for everyone from the active thrill seeker to the passive person who wishes simply to relax. The pastimes on offer have been thought out by Paul and the team and include the ability to learn from the local Masai warriors who provide tuition in activities such as rungu (club) throwing. This is all in addition to the traditional safari activities such as game drives, bush walks and even camel safaris.

The bush surrounding Lewaso plays host to a magnificent array of local African wildlife and bird life. Regular sightings around Lewaso and on game drives include but are not limited to:

  • Zebra (Grevy’s and Burchell’s)
  • Dik Dik
  • Hyena
  • Warthog

As mentioned in the About Us section Lewaso Cottages is a lodge run completely by local Masai people. All of the staff and guides come from the surrounding area and are happy to show you local villages and customs. In some lucky cases depending on local events you might be lucky enough to catch a Masai ceremony or ritual which happen at certain times of the year.
